Use mobil one. Not cheap wal mart oil
Wow. Nerdy cool!
Serious question i recently got a mustang gt, it only has miles on it. Worth noting the dealership changed the oil when they received the car from it s original owner should i have them put synthetic in it if they didn t already, i ll have to check at the next oil change? I live in an area that gets quite cold down to below f at times in the winter, very warm sometimes north of f in the summer.
Thanks. That was the clearest explanation of the difference between natural and synthetic oils i ve seen. Also i never knew what synthetic oil was manufactured from. Natural gas? Who d a thunk it? Learn something new every day.
Replace them at the same interval? No, now that s absolutely not true. Which is odd because you clearly know what you re talking about much more than i could ever hope to. So what i think you re doing is just basically just keeping it simple, even though it is very possible to use synthetic oils much longer than conventional oils depending on several factors.
Where does synthetic blend stand
What about with engines that naturally burn oil. Like rotaries?
I m now sitting here wondering of how fast an oil transforms back into a straight weight after the viscosity modifiers begin to wear out.
So with what knowledge i have in physics and fluid dynamics, everything stated is spot on. My only question is why and how do some car manufactures state and justify using conventional oil instead of synthetic in newer cars still? I have a turbo sonata and my car requires conventional. Any thoughts?
I use k y oil on my car.
Wtf? I just wanted a plain old english explanation
Does trojan lube work as well?
The wether is very hot the car manual say w is the best but i dont belive it what the best in hot wether thanks
If you have an old car pre synthetic oil and you switch from conventional oil to synthetic oil you may find that your car has suddenly developed oil leaks. Those old worn seals just don t like synthetic oil. Btw, i once owned an old chevy that burned gas and oil. Does that make it a hybrid car? ? ?
Everyone seems to use pennz, i wonder if they pay you to use it in youtube videos.
The only reason to use synthetic is thermal damage to hydro carbon based oils. Period. A much shorter video, ya think? It s too expensive to manufacture, the companies know this, so they try to sell it as a cure for k oil changes. Bad idea. Engines cost much more than an oil change. Watch the color of the oil on the dipstick. See it after an oil change having driven a few miles for it to circulate, and check it every k miles on a clean paper towel. The most expensive titanium coated, teflon enhanced oil with begin to brown after k. Most of what you re seeing is its effort to clean residual deposits left by the last oil. Around k, you ll begin to see thermal tarnishing for conventional oil, and k for the ultra high zoot high oil. Pretty soon you ll realize you can do oil changes for less than of the high zoot oil, and the cleaning of new oil will be much better, and much less expensive. One of the things motor oil does is protect the seals in the engine with additives specifically for that. Running the oil too long depletes their protection. Change your oil, do it yourself, and autozone will recycle it free! !
Its whatever you prefer.
Does this video really have to be minutes long? ? Just give us the cut and dry, no need for minutes of motor oil engineering dude
